In an effort to curb the spread of chronic wasting disease (CWD) in the state's deer herd, Winnebago County Solid Waste is once again offering a free and safe landfill disposal option for deer carcasses.* The Deer Carcass Disposal Program is open to Winnebago County residents who process their own deer and transport the carcasses to 100 W. County Road Y, Oshkosh, during operational hours, Monday-Friday 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. or Saturday 7 a.m. – noon. Participants should check in with the scale operator upon arrival. Winnebago County’s tarping ordinance applies. A fee waiver for deer carcasses is effective immediately*, and will run through December 31.

*Program valid October 1 - December 31 any year. Deer disposed during other months of the year are subject to normal scale disposal fees.
