Farmers, households and businesses are invited to dispose of unwanted pesticides, chemicals and other hazardous materials at this special Clean Sweep event held on APRIL 24TH, 2023 at the following locations:
Stearns Park in City of Omro (501 W. Huron St.) from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
City of Neenah Public Works Garage (1495 Tullar Rd.) from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
All participants MUST be a resident, farmer, or business of Winnebago County but do not have to reside in Omro or Neenah to attend either event. Event registration for all participants is required!
Hazardous materials are often found in the basement, garage, shed, workshop or cleaning cabinet. Hazardous products may be labeled with words such as POISON, FLAMMABLE, COMBUSTIBLE,
CORROSIVE, CAUTION, WARNING or DANGER. When disposed of improperly, hazardous materials can compromise the quality of our drinking water, increase algae bloom in local waterways and create health and safety risks for sanitation workers. In addition, hazardous materials left around the house and garage pose an accidental poison risk to children and pets. Materials accepted at this Clean Sweep event include pesticides, herbicides, poisons, lead & oil-based paint, spray paint, solvents, gasoline, household cleaners, degreasers, mercury and pool chemicals.
Disposal is FREE of charge for Winnebago County farmers and households. Farms and households must register online at www.WinnebagoCountyCleanSweep.com, or by calling (920) 232-1802 (registration deadline is April 19th). Businesses may participate at their own cost and should contact Zach Davis, Veolia North America at (262) 253-3504 for qualification and registration assistance.
